Moving Mistakes

When it comes to moving in WPB so many people make so many moving mistakes of which lead to significant issues that could easily have been avoided. If you are planning a move in the foreseeable future, read this quick how-to guide for the top mistakes that those who are moving, so often make (and how to avoid them!).

The first and perhaps biggest mistake that those who are looking to move make, is thinking that they can simply move themselves. While it is possible to make a move around the block or across town by moving yourself, it can still prove costly, and stressful. If you are planning to move to another town or state, be sure to use a legitimate moving company. It may be a more costly option, but you in turn can guarantee a stress-free and successful move.

Be sure to plan your upcoming relocation accordingly. So many who are moving tend to wait until their kids are out of school in the summer time. But, this is the peak time for moving for people around the country. You will find yourself scrambling at the last minute to get everything in order for your move, add to that trying to find a moving company who will move you on the days you want, and then the added rates that are charged during peak season. If at all possible, move accordingly.

When you have finally narrowed down your choice of a moving company, be sure and get a visual survey and a written estimate. So many people base their choice upon one call to a moving company who gave them an over-the-phone quote and they lock in their dates only to find themselves caught in a loop of hidden fees and hidden agendas. Be sure to do your research when choosing a legitimate moving company, additionally double check that your prospective company has actual insurance. Many rogue moving companies are our there with a name, but no protection in your favor.

Another one of the biggest mistakes people who are moving tend to make is that of forgetting their living things (such as pets and plants) that require special care and attention as well. If you are moving plants, be sure to take into consideration that most moving companies will not transfer living plants. Though some have special restrictions such as having you sign a waiver or will only transfer in a particular range or time limit. Always plan on transporting your plants and pets yourself. If you are unable to transport them yourself be sure to give your plants to a friend, family member or neighbor, and for pets be sure to consider a trusted pet transport company!
