Having A Smooth Move
When it comes to planning for relocation, everyone expects a hassle free transition into their new destinations. Our team at Willie’s Transfer are going to share some of our best tips to help you plan a smooth a drama free relocation,
- Make sure that your documents are in order
We cannot stress enough about the importance of taking good care of your documents. Many movers agree that lost documents can lead to last minute chaos. If you have any important documents in your house, be sure to pack them properly and to place them in a place where you can easily find them on moving day. Keep in mind that any documents involved with the move need to be kept at hand for easy reference should the need arises.
- Avoid a smelly fridge
Your first day at the new house should be pleasant and free from any trouble. A smelly fridge from leftover food or not being cleaned properly can ruin your moment for you. Instead, make time to clean and dry the inside of your refrigerator. Once it’s completely dry, place a handful of baking soda, charcoal or fresh coffee in a clean stocking or sock and leave it inside the fridge to remove any odors and to keep the fridge smelling fresh for your new home.
- Bare necessities should not be forgotten
Moving companies always advise their clients to pack a box of essentials to help in having a smooth move. Usually, these essentials include food, basic utensils and toiletries. Add screwdrivers, a flashlight, pliers, a can opener along with some cleaning supplies to make the box complete. The idea is to have everything you need to get dressed and ready on your first day while also being prepared to unpack and assemble a few important pieces of furniture.
- Be extra careful about pets and plants
It’s easy to let your pets and plants be forgotten during the moving rush. But it’s very important that you don’t let that happen. Do your best to keep your pets calm and free from stress before, during and after the move to avoid causing mental and physical health problems. As for your plants, it is very important to work at avoiding damage to the foliage. Your movers will be able to assist you with the right information.
