How to Safely Pack Dishes
One of the most frequently asked questions from customers who opt to pack themselves is that of how to safely pack dishes properly ensure that they are appropriately packing their dishes, china and stemware. This article is aimed to give you the step-by-step process to properly pack and protect your dishware to ensure safe arrival at your new home!
Plates:

Choose a medium-sized container, or “dish pack” and line the bottom with crumpled packing or newspaper.

Place a plate on the center of a few pieces of news or packing paper and fold one corner each to make a square that covers your plate

Place another plate on top of the first and repeat the process two times for a total of three plates stacked together

Turn the three plates upside down, and repeat the process again on the other side

Seal with packing tape and place in the box, so the plates stand on their edge
Cups and Bowls:

Using a single cup or bowl, bottom down, place in the center of your packing paper and repeat the same process as with the wrapping of your plates

Stack one more cup or bowl inside the first and repeat the process again

Once completed flip over, oppositely repeat the process, seal with packing tape, and place in box vertically
Glasses and Stemware:

Prior to wrapping, be sure to stuff the glasses or stemware with excess crumbled packing or newspaper

Lay the glass onto the corner of your packing paper and gently roll with the paper two full directions, upon the second roll turn both ends of the paper to meet in the middle

You may repeat the process, or use corrugated paper to additional protection

Seal with packing tape and place vertically (lips down) on top of heavier items (such as pitchers or plates)
Be sure to mark your box as “Fragile” or “Dishes”, to show your moving company to handle properly, or to make sure that you remember what is in the boxes!
