Moving Your Apartment
Moving Your Apartment
Moving your apartment may seem like a simple task, but oftentimes it can prove to be more tedious and stressful than moving an entire household. This brief article is aimed to give you a little direction when you are planning an apartment move, to make your next relocation a seamless experience!
Before you start planning your move, it’s best to start thinking about your options in terms of when you’d like to move. Summer, is typically the Peak Season of moving, when everyone is out of school. While rates will typically increase during this time, you can also find a higher listing of apartments available for rent. Fall and Winter can be slower moving times, the rates will generally be better, but fewer people are moving as they tend to want to plan their moves after the holiday season. Spring is a great option, the weather is better, people are beginning to start planning their moves, and rates are pretty standard.
Before you sign a lease at your new Apartment in West Palm Beach be sure and notify your landlord that you will be moving at least one month in advance. Additionally, conduct a thorough inspection (bring a flashlight!) of your new place and be sure that any repairs are made prior to you signing the new lease.
Double check that you will be getting your deposits back! By law, your landlord is not allowed to keep your deposit based upon normal wear and tear of your apartment, and you should be allowed to get your money back 30 days before you move out. Follow up on this, this money can help assist you with your upcoming moving costs, or to put down on your new apartment.
When you begin to conduct your search for a legitimate moving company, do some research, and don’t just go with the lowest cost. Ensure they have all legal licensing in place, and are covered by insurance in the event that any damage is done at your old or new apartment during the moving process. And always have a visual survey completed for the most accurate assessment of costs, never rely on a phone quote.
