Movers House Cleaning Plan

If you are moving from one home to another, it is important to make sure that your old house is properly cleaned before you start the relocation process. Which is why we put together a movers house cleaning plan. If you have been living for rent, your house will need to be cleaned with care to pass the landlord’s inspection while if it is always nice to leave a clean house for the new owners if you have sold your property. Of course, you will have a great many things to worry about during the whole moving process and cleaning the house might not be considered a top priority. But many movers recommend an organized house cleaning plan to clean your home for the move.

Moving companies always recommend that you seek the instructions of your real estate agent before you lay the movers cleaning home plans. They may have a specific set of requirements that you need to fulfill. As for rentals, you will have to look at any regulations set by your landlord. Generally, you may be required to give the carpets a good steam clean, clean the oven or to simply hire professional cleaners and produce the invoices as proof of completed work.

Some general cleaning will ensure that your house is clean at a first glance. It is recommended that you clean the windows from the inside and from the outside. Be sure to inspect the walls to see if there are any hand prints, scratches or marks and try to scrub them off. If there is any extensive damage, be sure to get it repaired well before moving day.  If your home has a fireplace, be sure to clean it carefully as well. The floors will have to be mopped or polished as per the type of flooring. Any dirt and rubbish should be properly removed and disposed.

Special attention needs to be given to the kitchen and bathrooms as they tend to get used more often and accumulate more dirt in comparison to other parts of your home. Inspect the appliances such as the dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator and oven to make sure that nothing has been left inside and clean them thoroughly. Be sure to clean all tiles, floors, windows and any shelves as well. If there are any damages, be sure to fix them before the moving day to avoid last minute drama.

Let’s not forget about the garden and exterior of the house. If you have sold your property, you may have spent extra time to enhance your curb appeal. If not, be sure to take some time to clean the garden, mow the lawn and to dispose of any garbage.
